Conduct informal, curriculum based assessments

As a Level 5 qualified dyslexia specialist teacher, trained through the British Dyslexia Association (BDA), I offer informal curriculum-based assessments designed to gain a detailed understanding of how a student is performing in relation to classroom expectations.

These assessments are tailored to the individual and involve looking closely at reading, writing, spelling, and other literacy skills within the context of the school curriculum. They help identify specific strengths and areas of difficulty, providing valuable insight that can be used to inform targeted teaching strategies and classroom support.

This type of assessment is particularly useful for:

  • Gaining a clearer picture of a learner's current abilities

  • Identifying barriers to learning in literacy-based tasks

  • Supporting early intervention and classroom planning

  • Informing discussion with parents, teachers, and other professionals
