Attend School SEN/Parent meetings to discuss informal curriculum based assessment
As part of my service, I am available to attend school meetings (such as SEND reviews or Team Around the Child meetings) to discuss the findings of the informal assessment.
I can explain the results in accessible terms and support the team in developing a shared understanding of the learner’s profile.
These meetings are a valuable opportunity to:
-
Discuss how the assessment findings relate to classroom performance
-
Ensure appropriate support and interventions are in place
-
Contribute to setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) targets
-
Inform the content of an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Support Plan
-
Provide supporting evidence for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) application
-
Bridge communication between parents/carers and school staff
-
Offer recommendations for specific, evidence-based strategies and resources
My approach is collaborative, child-centred, and aligned with current SEND Code of Practice guidelines. I aim to empower schools and families to make informed decisions and take positive next steps that are tailored to the learner’s needs.
